BSSA board members are aligned with our softball players and managers and want to get our players on the softball field competing as soon as it is safe. Our last virtual meeting with the State Office was Saturday May 2nd and there was excellent discussion. We believe we are getting closer to being able to get on the diamonds and have softball games soon. Our next meeting with the State Association is scheduled for May 16th. We fully anticipate to receive additional guidance at that meeting. To be prepared to start the season as soon as given the clearance, BSSA is planning to finalize our men’s softball leagues in the very near future. If you have not registered your team yet, please submit that registration immediately.
Once league starts, there will be some minor tweaks to the game to allow social distancing as much as feasible. For example, there may not be pregame coin flips, post game hand shakes, and we may ask teams to stand outside dugouts to keep social distancing, etc.. The full guidance will be posted prior to league games starting. Please remain positive as we are very optimistic we will begin our league games soon.
Our Managers meeting scheduled for May 11th is being postponed. We will let you know later on how we plan to collect rosters and fees and give the Managers their information packet and softballs. Stay safe and hope to see you on the diamonds soon.
